Finding your dog's size takes about two minutes. Measure three things with a soft tape measure (or a piece of string and a ruler), then match the numbers to the chart below. Chest girth matters most, so if you only measure one thing, measure that.
Between two sizes, or shopping for a growing puppy? Choose the next size up. A slightly roomy fit is comfortable; a tight one restricts movement and is the most common reason for exchanges.
How to measure your dog
Chest girth (most important): Wrap the tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. Keep it snug but not tight. You should be able to slide two fingers under it.
Neck girth: Measure around the base of the neck, where a collar sits.
Body (back) length: Measure from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Stop a couple of inches above the tail so clothing stays clean and comfortable.
Measure while your dog is standing. If your dog is wiggly, measure twice and use the larger number.
Breed tip: for long-backed breeds like Dachshunds, check body length. For broad-chested breeds like French and English Bulldogs, always size by chest.

Collar and leash sizing
Measure around your dog's neck, then choose the size whose range includes that measurement. All of our collars are adjustable. A good fit is snug enough that you can slide two fingers between the collar and your dog's neck.

Harness sizing
Measure your dog's neck and chest girth, then choose the size whose chest range fits your dog. The measurements below are the actual measurements of the harness.
Harness sizes run differently from clothing sizes. For example, a Chihuahua usually wears XS in clothing but S in our harnesses, so always use this chart for harnesses.

This chart applies to all of our harnesses, including our sport harnesses. How each style adjusts:
- Freedom harnesses: adjustable at the chest. The neck is not adjustable.
- Harness dresses: slightly adjustable, with velcro closures at the neck and chest.
- Step-in harnesses: not adjustable, with velcro and clip closures at the chest. The neck opening is a bit wider than on Freedom harnesses.

Should I go by weight or measurements?
Measurements. Weight is a helpful guide, but chest girth is what determines fit.
Do all styles fit the same?
Fit varies by style and material. Stretchy t-shirts are the most forgiving. Jackets, vests, dresses and outfits don't stretch, so we recommend sizing up on these.
Do you make clothes for large dogs?
Yes. Many of our t-shirts are available up to size 5XL, which fits breeds like Labradors, Golden Retrievers and Rottweilers. Available sizes are listed on each product page.
